Since our inception in 2006 we have gifted about $200,000 to international and local programs, from supporting impoverished communities in Mexico to promoting education of women in Kenya. KHOPE helps those in need by making dreams, reality.

KHOPE assists several different organizations across the globe. From sponsoring Cardinal Maurice Otunga Empowerment Center for Girls in Nairobi, Kenya to the La Morita Mexico Youth Mission which has built homes for several dozens of families since 1996. KHOPE is incredibly proud to help those in need and to empower the future generations to reach success and leave an impact on the world.
Cardinal Maurice Otunga Empowerment Center for Girls –
The empowerment center provides skill training, housing and food to girls. In 2020, KHOPE shifted its support of this charter mission from general support to providing scholarships to specific girls. The recipients are chosen by the former director of the school, from the most vulnerable in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.
La Morita Mexico Youth Mission –
For over 25 years, this organizations, based in Concord, CA, has been taking dozens of teenagers and adults to La Morita to build houses for the people of this impoverished community. Click here to learn more!
Seeds of Hope For Haiti –
This program provides food, education, emergency relief, etc. to the community of Grand Boulage, Haiti. In February 2019, they opened the first permanent, fixed medical clinic. Helping Hand Indo American, Inc. –
This other American Canyon based organization provides much needed support to the local Indo-American community in the US and to the needy families in India. This organization was founded and led by another American Canyon community leader. Click here to learn more!
Disaster Relief –
Wherever disaster strikes, there are children that need help. The KHOPE board seeks out those organizations that can ensure that all donations go directly to the people that need it the most. KHOPE has supported these organizations in the Philippines, Guatemala and elsewhere.
The KIVA program, based in San Francisco, provides micro loans to people that are unbanked and can’t access financial services they need to start or expand a business. KHOPE has over $1,500 on loan at any one time in over 50 countries. These loans allow people, mostly women with children, to lift their family out of poverty. Click here to learn more!
Africa Scholarships –
With the help of our partner, a former volunteer at the CMO, we have provided college scholarships to several individuals in Nairobi, Kenya so they can improve their future and that of their families.
Emergency Food Relief –
The people of the Karen Slums in Nairobi have been especially hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no way to social distance and very little PPE. KHOPE has provided special grants to Sr. Christine, the former director of the CMO, so that she can purchase and distribute food and supplies to these most vulnerable people.
KHOPE takes pride in supporting those who most need our support in our local community from those without a home to those who require comfort after deadly wildfires in Napa County. Every year, KHOPE allocates the funds for the American Canyon High School Scholarship Fund to assist those for whom a college education might not be a financially achievable goal. KHOPE has the pleasure of supporting our local communities in times of need.
American Canyon High School Scholarship Program –
Each year the KHOPE board reviews dozens of applications from high school seniors looking for assistance. The criteria used to determine the recipients include, financial need, special family circumstances and educational goals. We primarily look for those students for whom going to college would be particularly difficult if not impossible without our support.
American Canyon Food Bank –
The food bank is a critical resource to the people of American Canyon. The KHOPE Board has been proud to support this organization for several years. Christian Help Center –
This organization in Vallejo, CA provides food and shelter to those who are homeless and in need of care with compassion, dignity, and respect. Through their support those in need become independent and self-sufficient. They provide one of the only family shelters in the county. Click here to learn more!
KHOPE is always looking for opportunities to help other local organizations provide services in line with our mission. Some of these have included, adopt-a-family programs, the Boys and Girls Club and fire victim relief programs.
